Heath House
When Nigel Skinner approached Balcony the design brief was to combine traditional materials and construction techniques with modern durability and stylistic cues.
The result was a stunning Balcony constructed in hand selected character grade, air dried English Oak.
To accurately reference the vernacular Georgian building style, we hand dressed locally quarried stone to form 'saddles' at the base of each of the huge oak columns, which in turn were then flashed with lead in the traditional manner.
In addition, each of the four braces were subtly arched to add elegance to an already impressive structure.
As Mr. Skinner commented:
"It looks as if it has always been there... an absolute masterpiece"
- we were very pleased too!
